JN-AN-1111 IEEE802.15.4 Remote Control

This Application Note describes how to use a Jennic JN5139 evaluation kit to demonstrate a wireless remote control. The software required to implement this application was developed using the Integrated Peripherals (Hardware) API, provided free-of-charge in the Jennic SDK (Software Developer’s Kit).

The features of this example application are as follows:

• Replaces infrared technology with a wireless link using the JN5139 device
• Use of low-power sleep mode to maximise battery life of remote control
• Switch debounce within software to reduce BOM cost
• Pairing feature to associate remote control with selected device
