Jennic’s 6LoWPAN evaluation kit provides a complete environment for the development of low power wireless IP connectivity applications based on the JN5139 wireless microcontroller. The kit contains a complete package of hardware and software, including five wireless sensor nodes, an Ethernet Border-Router, an unrestricted software developer kit (SDK), example code and documentation on CDROM.

The SDK provides a complete set of development tools, software libraries and APIs (Application Programming Interfaces) for programming and controlling the on-chip peripherals of the JN5139, for configuring and managing the network and for data communication.

Out of the box, the 6LoWPAN evaluation kit demonstrates an example UDP (User Datagram Protocol) based home sensor demo that monitors the state of sensors on the wireless nodes and presents this information on a PC connected to the Ethernet network. Commands may be sent from the PC to control the wireless nodes.
