Jennic's condition monitoring and tracking platform for the logistics industry uses sleeping beacon technology to provide a robust solution with long battery life for both tags and coordinators.
Sleeping beacon is an enhancement of the standard IEEE802.15.4 beacon facility, allowing improved battery life with control over network traffic. This approach enables regular reporting of key parameters such as temperature and humidity, as well as network management.
The unique 64-bit MAC ID of each tag allows identification and tracking of goods throughout the supply chain. Operational integrity is assured by intelligent frequency agility that monitors channel activity and manages changes to a different channel when required.
Adopting Jennic’s ready-to-use platform allows developers to implement their own solution easily, with a short time-to-market. Demonstration code is available on request.
